To this.....
I think I have decided that I am a "fair weather quilter" - well actually I don't need good weather really. However I have decided that there are only a couple of things that I like about making a quilt and the rest I really don't like. I like choosing the fabrics and colours, cutting them out and putting them together!! That is it - I could forget that whole tacking it and quilting it!! I did quilt this one with straight machine sewing down the seams and that is as complicated as I will get. Hand quilting - forget it!! I have also decided on a "Style" that I like and suits me - Random Strips! I haven't got the patience for blocks and triangles and little bits. I have decided that for me it is alll about the colours and prints!! So I am going to stick to this style. I leave the complicated quilts to my darling sister!
But what I would like to share is something I'd like to think is my idea -I have never seen it before -I am sure others have thought about it before me!! Anyway - with bits of fabric from the quilt and a little label - put them through the laminator -hey presto - a little memento of the quilt and made in about 1 minute!!!

Is this a dumb question - am I really ignorant: are the kids getting another cousin?
Love the quilt. I've started making a lot of strip quilts - the latest, though, has strips of scraps as the backing fabric.
Great idea Shell - I have taken photo's of all my quilts, added sample of each fabric and brief description - all on coloured card in a plastic pocket but your system looks better. Love the colours and simple design. Love Rita
Gorgeous quilt Shelly - such pretty colours.
Your laminated card is a great idea - that way even when you give away your beautiful creations, you still have a memento.
Beautiful quilt! I love your idea! Brilliant!! :)
Looks great - well done!
it just occurred to me that you could actually make a mini version and laminate them for little kid placemats.
(remember to send me a royalty cheque once you start making your millions with this idea!)
