Jesus Christ

6pm the other night the doorbell rang. Still chewing my food (as many families are at that time) I answered the door and was greeted by two gorgeous young men very smartly dressed - Mormons!!! I was quickly joined by my three children who are incredibly nosey! They asked if I had a few minutes to talk about Jesus Christ and I was very polite and explained that it was a really bad time. They were very polite back and said "Is there anything else we can help you with?" So I quickly said "Yes - could you wash my car please!" I really should have waited to see what they would have done but I said it was OK - we have water restrictions and we can't wash the car anyway.
The kids and I went inside and sat back down.
"I didn't know that Jesus's surname was Christ - is it?" said Shay.
Not being religious myself at ALL - I have decided that next time the lovely Mormon boys knock on the door, I will invite them in to answer the questions of my children!!

......while I sit back with a G&T and a good book!!

Once we went to a christening in a chuch and my son asked me, "Why do they have the letter T everywhere?"

It was the cross...

Shelly you are a riot!!

I remember my father once inviting some young Mormon boys in when I was in Yr 11 or 12 (even though he is an atheist, my dad loves to chat!). These spunky young men sat chatting to Dad in the living room, and every time I walked by they looked up, and every time I glanced at them I blushed, because they were soooooo cute!

I like your plan for putting them to work. They sounded very sweet!

....or YOU could wash the car! You'd have to be quick though as I think any pair of Mormons would meet their match in answering Shay's questions, backed up by Luca and then Zoe.

Why didn't you invite them back to talk to Marcel???...LOL

LOL! This post of course caught my eye because I am a Mormon. I didn't know if you knew that!! LOL! I was asking my husband about Christ being Jesus's surname (b/c I never thought of it that way) and he explained that His surname might have been something more like "Jesus of Nazareth" because that is where he was from. They called Him Jesus (the) Christ as a way to emphasis that he is the Messiah. :) Just a little info. I bet that the missionaries would have washed your car . . . they are all such nice guys!! :)
