Can you believe.......

........in the last place we lived in Switzerland....I had two assigned wash days per MONTH!! We lived in an apartment building with a communal laundry. They were the 3rd and 21st of the month!!! And if that day fell on a Sunday (and terrible things would happen if you dared sneak a wash in on a Sunday!!!) you had to wait until the next free day!! Yes..even with three small children I could only wash on these two days!! And do you know what..it worked...and i really liked it!! Because that would be all I did that day...EVERYTHING was washed (about 10 loads!) and hung up to dry in the airing room and then brought back upstairs, folded and put away that day..yes really!! Ironing...you have to be kidding...doesn't everyone have a basket of ironing just waiting to be ironed!! My point is, that here I am with a washing machine all of my own, sunny (although chilly) weather to hang the clothes in.....and I still can't get on top of the washing!! There is piles of it everywhere...dirty..clean..crushed..folded..unfolded..!! Our sheets and towels will probably walk to the laundry themselves soon! When we came here I said I would try only washing once a week..but the clothesline isn't big enough!! Anyway i am sure I will get on top of it one day...just not anytime soon!!
