spuds and stuff

Typical me.....weeding the vegie garden the other night because the soil was moist thanks to the dumping of rain we had. And just under the surface was this lovely collection of spuds!!! Now we didn't plant any potato plants, so can only assume our dear neighbour had thrown one of her potatoes over the fence and it grew and produced these!! I cooked them up with green beans and made it into a Tuna salad with croutons and dressing....yummy and thanks to the crazy lady next door!!

Yes that is the fabric that I covered the chair with the other day!! Now a bag that has been ordered. I make quite a few that are worn across the body leaving hands free!! And the pocket at the front is great for keys and phones.

All this time to be creative is wonderful. This is an almost finished skirt for me...need only locate my bag of zips to find one suitable. I cut out some extra flowers from the fabric and some in plain blue and sewed them on with buttons. Just for something different but subtle.

The extras look good, and you'll always know where to find some spare buttons.

Perhaps Mrs Nextdoor could throw some potatoes my way. Just as well some of the other things she's thrown haven't grown - you could have a yard full of dogs by now!

And I always thought you needed to spend a bit of time on growing spuds - obviously not :) Cute bag, and that skirt is fab - very clever.

Love the bag. What pattern do you use for the bags you wear across the body? I would love to try to make one, but can't find a pattern. Probably not looking in the right place.

As for the spuds, maybe that's why ours didn't grow properly, we didn't have a crazy next door neighbour throwing them at us.

We had a crazy neighbor once. He grew potatoes and gave them to us as a gift. They were the best potatoes I have ever had. When we went to sell our home, he bought our house from us without a realestate agent (no fees). He paid us far beyond market price. Seven Years later he died and left us executors of his will (5% of his estate). He was a crazy neighbor I will never forget and truly miss.
