beans and my boy

Why the name "Shells and Beans"??? Obviously from my name and my love for beans!! Yes i love green beans...in fact any bean (though broadbeans need to be peeled)....fresh, canned, dried.....I like them all!!! and guess what so do ALL 3 of my kids!!! This is what they did last night with their beans before eating them!!!

The other day I had thought to myself...I really should have a plan of action in case I need to rush one of the kids to the hospital or doctor. Of course I was looking at Luca running and jumping when I thought this!!! Sure enough yesterday there was a thump in his room and I went in to find the poor guy with a split cheek and lots of blood!!! Now I am going to praise myself at my calmness and quickness at getting him to the doctor, armed with one of those huge tubes of Smarties and promises he could eat as many as he wanted!! The doctor didn't stitch but glued and taped it together!! Luca was a complete cry baby and cried and screamed the whole time!!! It took all my strength and a head lock to keep him still!!! So loads of cuddles and kisses later for both of us and he now sports a plaster that he added some blue paint to while painting...and he will not let me near it to clean the paint off!!

What a trauma for you both! Good that Luca didn't need stitches, though.

Tha paint is a very artistic touch (he must take after his mother!)

Ohhhhh!!! Has it crossed your mind that it's only centimetres below his eye? And you and eyes.... Great that you managed to keep it together (your sanity, I mean). And he timed it well - were the girls at school? Give him a hug and a kiss from me.

Yeah for a calm Mum and a little boy who looks like he came through the trauma ok. Smarties are wonderful things....lol. I hope you got some too.

I remember when Elise cut her chin open (she slipped in the bath) the staff at the hospital thought I needed more help than she did. Groan.

Kids - why exactly did we have them?? Ohh I remember it was for practice so we would know what to do when our hubbies decided to injure themselves. Now ask yourself - who is the biggest baby...lol.

Tell Luca it's a nice look....I'm sure this might slow him down for a day or two....maybe not....little boys sure do love to run and jump, don't they........

Good job on keeping your cool!
