..next morning!!

Well it was fun - really great fun!! And what we all needed and why we will do it again and again! It wasn't all rowdy and raucous and there wasn't any dancing or pillow fights in G-strings as some husbands thought it might be!!! It was 5 women (all mothers) enjoying great food, fabulous drinks and just being together.
We are a funny group - a bit like the book in that we have all met through the school where our children go and so have known each other 3 years maximum. We were not around to see each other pregnant, in the early stages of new motherhood or relationships. We each went through those stages with other people and through moving here, have emerged and changed into who we are today. I certainly feel a renewed energy (albeit a bit hazy this morning!!!) having spent quality time with girlfriends who are not dependent on me and see me as an equal not a Mother or Wife.

Oh, that sounds so divine !!

Love the pic of the rusty bells - I have a heap here hanging from an old jasmine vine :)

Yay!

Still jealous: I bet you could get a book's worth of stories from any mother-linked gathering like that. So glad you had fun!

(laughing out loud at my desk at the imagine of your husbands imagining g-string pillow fights! That would SO have been the first question my husband would have asked ME!)

We had that book as a bookgroup choice not that long ago. We didn't have the night together but we certainly had a great discussion. We all arrived having written down our responses to each of the questions asked at the start of the book. It was very hilarious and revealing even though we have been going over ten years!

You sound like you had a great night - food, drinks and talk, talk, talk. Nothing much better :-)

Lucky you!! You must give me some tips on finding good friends in the school environment ... Miss E is off to school next year and I want at least two new friends out of it!!!
A sleepover is such a good idea - cheaper and easier than a weekend away somewhere.

Shelly, are you in Sydney? You mentioned Sydney airport elsewhere so I am guessing that you are.

If so, and if you're interested in getting together with some other Sydney (mum) bloggers on 17 November can you please email me? There are three of us so far but anyone else who can make it is most welcome!

My email is on my blogger profile page. Sorry about doing this in the comment box but I can't see an email link for you!
