I think the best thing you can do as a mother is establish close friendships with like minded mothers! My early days as a new mum back in Switzerland were saved by the fact I had joined a Mothers group. There were many diverse people in the group and quickly many "sub groups" formed of people who had more in common than just a new baby. I had a wonderful group of friends there (they are still very very dear friends) and have a great group of friends here in Australia. A few of us have husbands that are away a LOT for work and so we help each other out. Recently we 3 of us have started a regular thing where once a week we cook for the two other families. So each of us now has two nights a week where we don't have to cook. Do you know how much time that saves? It is fabulous and our kids are eating things they might not have had before! It is like having take away home delivered twice a week - yet it is home cooked!!!!
PS. This is actually a meal Marcel cooked one night. It is his famous pork fillet wrapped in bacon and pastry!!

That is a very good idea.
PS My Pete loves to cook pork or chicken in pastry too.
That does sound good, I suppose once you've got your cooking mojo on you may as well cook for 15 people as 5! And 2 nights off with no cooking sounds fab.
*Except*, there is no way I could cook for 3 families once a week - i'd hate it, hate it, hate it !
I usually only cook for that many people once a year - at Christmas -and even that does my head in ( refusing to do it this year ! :)
Sheer genius, that is!
