!!Warning!! Possible enrolment overload

I recieved this email today....

Dear Student,

The University records indicate that you are enrolled in five units. The
University generally recommends a load of four units. I strongly
recommend that you seek course advice from your course convenor as soon
as possible - their contact details can be found at
www.canberra.edu.au/courses.

If you wish to change your unit enrolment you must do so before the
close of business (5PM) on Friday the 15th August (Census date) to avoid
financial penalty.

Regards, Luke

My Reply......

Dear Luke
Thank you for your concern regarding my possible unit overload. You need not worry as I have undertaken 5 units for the past 3 semesters and until now I haven't recieved a concerned letter from you. I would just like to let you know that doing 5 units is actually not a problem and I am able to maintain quite a high grade point average. There are of course the issues of 3 young children, housework, washing, cooking, shopping for a family, husband away a lot, kids activities, homework, school lunches, maintaining a house, garden too, craft activities to keep me sane and socialising to keep me normal. However, I don't believe the course convenor is able to help here.

Regards, Shelly

I remember having to do 5 units in my last semester to catch up (changed degrees in my third year) and I had to get special permission from the Dean of Arts, the careers adviser and the deparment heads of all the subjects I was doing.

All it meant was that I had 32 contact hours instead of the usual 8 contact hours that Arts students had. And it meant I got to spend less time at the refec, which wasn't really such a bad thing.

Poor Luke - he's probably on work experience and they made him go through the files to practice his letter writing skills!
