Life cycle of a blog.

I really need to update the links on my sidebar. There are a few blogs who no longer exist and a few who are taking indefinite breaks. Of course this is fine and it just got me thinking about the life cycle of blogs....I just have the feeling it isn't that long. I am sure we all started our blogs at some point in our lives and for particular reasons and these naturally change and so do our reasons for blogging. I still remember discovering the world of blogs after googling "bag patterns" and came across Loobylu and her recommendation for a Japanese craft book. I was in awe of all these creative people making such wonderful things and blogging it to the world and I wanted to be part of it. I wanted my blog to show my creative talents too however I think you need to be clever, creative and organised and the latter is my failing. And so my blog has evolved differently and I am not really sure where it stands or where it is going or even what kind of blog it is but I know I will not feel the "need" to continue my blog forever, they do have a life cycle of their own.

Oh and the photos today are last nights dinner before they were roasted. I just loved the colours. And below are two visitors who were watching over our back fence yesterday.

I visit your blog alot. Rarely leave comments though, but it is just another way to keep 'tabs' - not just peek into the lives of people who you don't know. (Says me with one of those abandonned blogs!)

I think most blogs start out as one thing and finish as something else, mine included.

Looks like you better keep it going for at least another year or 'In Transit' will lose her link with home ... lol.

Well, I hope people continue to blog !!

I have so many I love to visit and read, and would be all sad if I woke up one day and everyone had left overnight ! :)

When I first read your comment about the photos of the dinner you roasted I thought you meant the kangaroos! lol-- glad I kept reading! Blogs really are an amazing phenomenon. I think Alice is right you never know what will transpire.

i think you're right, blogging has its own life cycle. i use my blog as a diary, mainly, because i'm so crap at writing in a journal but i wanted to keep some record of our lives for my son. i hope you keep on with it for a long time yet!

I think it's a wonderful way to keep 'tabs' on each other, and interesting to see what other people do in their daily lives. I love the warmth and friendship between bloggers. It's a neat phenomenon to 'know' people all over the world...and feel a connection.
I'm glad I 'met' your mum through blogging. She's a wonderful friend :)
