Blue Goop

The kids wanted to make "Goop" the other day -so I let them! It was all their own creation and design and I have to say they made the nicest shade of blue/mauve - my favourite colour!! The blue colour soaked into their hands and for a day or two the girls didn't look too healthy but it finally came off!!

Marcel arrives back tomorrow after another 3 weeks away. I can feel my energy levels (physical and emotional) are just about depleted. I have enough energy to get me through three weeks alone with bad sleep because I know I have to. I guess I could cope with longer and I have but I seem to allocate myself enough energy for the time he his away and then basically collapse in an exhausted heap when he returns!! So there is nothing planned for the weekend - just relaxing!! Enjoy your weekend!

I hope you do get a chance to relax. 3 weeks on full time duty is hard work. I'm like you, I judge the length of the trip away and metre out my energy and attention and make it just by the skin of my teeth. So long trips away see me moving in very slow motion so that I make the distance!

Blue goop looks like fun!

I love that you let your kids make "goop". A reminder to me -- let our kids be kids and "let them make goop".

Shelly you are definitely one of the coolest mums ever, blue goop and all!

Glad to hear you will no longer be a 'single mum' as of tomorrow!!

That's impressive goop!

That must be so hard coping by yourself for weeks at a time... I'm glad you'll be getting some respite soon.

I am so happy that he arrives home soon! It always seems to get harder closer to the end because you know that help is on the way! Good luck! You are in the final stretch!

We had that goop a few years ago - from the ABC's Backyard Science Book in our case... I'm still not sure what chemical reaction made the blue so lethal but it stained not only the Pea Princess' arms but permanently stained the timber table, a floor tile, the apron and two tea towels! Glad your Blue Period lasted a little less longer and glad to hear you're no longer batching it.
