Tooth Issues.

I have mentioned my Love (total hate!!!) of dentists before - actually it is a fear really!!! Total fear. What would make someone want to become a dentist anyway?? ...I just don't get it. So for a few weeks now my originally diagnosed 'sinus' problem has been a tooth problem!! A visit to the dentist the other week determined that it was getting better but it would probably need to come out at some stage. This is the second dentist who has said this and there has never been mention of root canal therapy for me - they both probably knew I would not survive!! Of course an abscess always gets worse on a Saturday and by Sunday it is plain awful!! Actually I have to confess it wasn't THAT bad - it was just the thought of the dentist!!! How brave was I to ring the dentist on Monday at 8.30 and ask for an appointment - I had one at 8.45!! I sat in the waiting room and listened to the 8 year old cry as she had an injection - Why does this dentist not shut the doors!!!!! So I told the lady who came in after me "You can go ahead of me - I don't want you to hear me cry!!" - Her perfect teeth only needed a quick clean! I told the dentist "I would much rather give birth than be here!!" - I don't know what my problem is - it was quick and I only felt the injection - but I whimpered like a real baby!!!! I had my ipod on so I couldn't hear anything - but I still hated it!!! However I did survive - I came home and burst into tears - hubby thought I must have had a very painful experience! All I could say was "it didn't even hurt!". I quickly got over myself and went to Uni all big and puffy and relieved it was all over.

I should have brought my tooth home and left it for the Tooth Fairy!! I hear prices have gone up!!! I can imagine that some shoes would make it much better!!!!!!

The tooth fairy probably would have brought you some shoes but you don't have a glass big enough to put them in.

Glad you survived.

Aw, Shelly, what a trauma. Hope you've recovered and are feeling better with that pus-y tooth gone!

I agree. Why would you ever choose to be a dentist. Truly gross.

Maybe the tooth fairy will cook you dinner and clean up for you....that would be nicer than cash.

Lordy be girl you sound like me, I hate lying there with my mouth open not knowing what the hell they are going to do next, eps with extractions. Probably comes from the fact that a dentist fractured my jaw taking a wisdom tooth out and i had morphine for two days. I HATE DENTISTS. plus they charge you like it's going out of fashion too

How weird - a couple of months ago, I was convinced I had a tooth abscess because my mouht and face were aching. Only it was the worst case of sinus I've ever had!

Going to the dentist is horrible. I feel for you...
